Research into mental imagery and how scientific research into embodiment can facilitate clinical work.
This lecture will focus on Dr. Amit Abrahams research into mental imagery across the spectrum of human capabilities. He will discuss the role of mental imagery for individuals with Parkinson's disease and share some of the challenges- as well as potential- for this research path. Specifically, he will share findings from his recent work pointing at the beneficial effectiveness of mental imagery training for individuals with Parkinson's disease in improving motor and cognitive functions, including body schema. Lastly, he will present some of his future research directions with the goal of promoting embodiment and somatic research.
