Bringing Feeling into Physical Education

How I'm using online Physical Education to prioritize sensing, feeling, and thinking. The traditional 'divorce brain from body' or 'just do it' culture is failing our kids, and the cracks are showing during the mental health crisis of COVID. Instead of asking empty, "are you OK?" and then barrelling through planned content, why not make one's ability to assess and understand their CURRENT state, the foundation of the class? This conversational workshop is meant to provide participants with theory, practice, and modeling of a holistic form of physically educating, digging into thinking and feeling BEFORE the physical. Designed WITH the interests and engagement of my actual high school age students, this course is meant to propose a different way at getting to bodies, from the inside out.
