http://www.susanbauer.comSusan Bauer (MFA, RSME/T, RSDE) is a dance and somatic educator living in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is the founder of Embodiment in Education™ and offers workshops and teacher certification trainings internationally. Susan is the author of The Embodied Teen: A Somatic Curriculum for Teaching Body-Mind Awareness, Kinesthetic Intelligence, and Social and Emotional Skills (North Atlantic Books). Based on 30 years of teaching in the U.S and abroad, her groundbreaking book is the first to offer a curriculum in somatic education adapted to the unique needs of adolescents. Susan also has a private practice as a somatic educator in the Bay Area, informed by her background in dance, Authentic Movement, and Body-Mind Centering®. She has served on the Board of Directors of the International Somatic Movement Educators and Therapists Association (ISMETA) and taught at several universities, such as the University of San Francisco, California Institute of Integral Studies, and Denison University in the U.S., and Taitung University in Taiwan. Susan is also a past Fulbright Scholar to Bali, Indonesia. She holds and MFA in Dance from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a MA in Dance and Movement Studies from Wesleyan University. She is also a Registered Somatic Movement Educator/Therapist and Registered Somatic Dance Educator through ISMETA.
