Indigenous movement rituals as a way to develop self-identity and work with transitions.
In this session, we explore some of the Indian movement rituals that help with transitions and are passed down from generation to generation. We look at examples of community based rituals in clinical work through dance movement therapy and some of the factors that allow for integration of the self. Tools will be offered to create one’s own ritual based in this indigenous knowledge of embodied wisdom.
