On the Chariot of the Self: Understanding Embodiment by Unpacking a Wisdom Analogy

Beginning or no understanding of topic, Open to all
Movement not required
Likely neutral
This session draws from the famous "chariot analogy" found in the Katha Upanishad, one of Hinduism's most beloved and important metaphysical wisdom texts. We use this analogy, along with corresponding teachings from the Bhagavad Gita, to better understand healthy and unhealthy relationships between body, mind, and witnessing self. Finally, we explore how this analogy can be used as a structure for a powerful mindfulness meditation practice.
