This session explores pain care, an issue important to 20% of the population and intertwined with addiction, mental health, physical disability and disconnection. Unexplored misconceptions about pain can limit recovery, while the acquisition of knowledge is often the foundation from which change arises when pain persists. Research shows the benefits of educating people in pain through written and verbal media, yet to date has not considered a more experiential approach to helping people reconceptualize pain. This session explores movement and yoga as effective educational agents, suggesting that reconceptualizing pain and pain care can be more powerful, with deeper learning when experienced in the body
