Recalibrating of our physiological and perception systems to differentiate between threat and non-threat
This workshop will provide an overview of how somatic experiences inform our perception of safety and threat, and how our brain files those experiences away for future reference as we encounter novel experiences that need to be evaluated.
Sometimes experiences of trauma cause us to incorrectly assess safety versus threat. Somatic approaches are particularly effective at supporting a recalibration of our physiological and perception systems so we are more accurately differentiating between threat and non-threat.
Via both lecture and experiential somatic exercises, this workshop will explore simple ways to support this greater accuracy.
