Learn to cue yoga classes to promote wellbeing instead of achievement

Intermediate understanding

Many traditional yoga cues were created with a focus on achievement, not wellbeing. Even though many yoga teachers today want to prioritize wellbeing, they are stuck using cues that actively undermine their intended focus. Through a combination of discussions and explorations, this session will provide you with a simple framework to create cues for your yoga classes that emphasize the breath, that strengthen mind-body connections, and that help your students shift their focus away from achievement towards freedom and joy. Learning outcomes 1. Learn to recognize yoga cues that inhibit embodiment and wellbeing 2. Explore cues that are appropriate for all practitioners because they cue for sensations, not external goals 3. Begin to create your own cues that describe internal sensations
