5 Dimensional Flow: Safe, Accessible, Effective Posture, Movement & Breathing for Health Happiness & Longevity
Intermediate understanding
Space and loose clothed required
Likely neutral
In this session, Simon Borg-Olivier, MSc BAppSc (Physiotherapy) APAM c-IAYT, will guide you through 10 safe, accessible and effective spinal postures, with simple movements and natural regenerative breathing.
Our spine and trunk are able to move in 5 main directions, which are like 5 dimensions.
* Lengthening and shortening the trunk (increasing intervertebral disc space).
* Bending forwards and backwards.
* Side-bending to left and right.
* Twisting to left and right.
* Expansion and contraction (significantly improving circulation and breathing).
This practice gives effective back pain relief, improves flexibility, core strength, blood flow and energy levels while reducing anxiety and allowing you to enter a meditative flow state.
Learning outcomes
1. Participants will be able to feel energised but calm after the practice. This practice is designed to improve blood flow without needing to increase heart rate. The health of your nervous system, your immune system and your regenerative/reproductive system are also enhanced.
2. Participants will have a better understanding of how to work with their spine and joints for the relief of pain in the back, neck, arms and legs.
3. Participants will have a better understanding of how to access the meditative state. Simon will explain the 5 key components of the flow/meditative state that allow you to enter the zone.
