Meditation & Embodiment Teacher, Developer of Neuro-Somatic Mindfulness (NSM) & Author of Radical Responsibility
Fleet Maull, PhD, CMT-P is an author, meditation & embodiment teacher, social entrepreneur, consultant and trainer. He is an Acharya (senior Dharma teacher) in the global Shambhala Meditation Community and a Roshi (Zen master) in the international Zen Peacemaker Order. Dr. Maull founded Prison Mindfulness Institute and National Prison Hospice Association and co-founded the Upaya Buddhist Chaplaincy Training, the Rwanda Bearing Witness Retreat, the Center of Mindfulness in Public Safety, and the Engaged Mindfulness Institute. He trains prisoners, business leaders, correctional officers, law enforcement and other public safety professionals and the general public in mindfulness-based and embodied approaches to wellness, resiliency, self-regulation, leadership and human optimization. Acharya Maull has studied and practiced a wide range of meditation and body-mind disciplines for more than 47 years with some of the most prominent teachers east and west, including Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Thrangu Rinpoche, Khenpo Tsultim Gyatso, Roshi Bernie Glassman, Roshi Joan Halifax, Richard Stozzi-Heckler, Robert K. Hall, Arny Mindell, Bessel Van der Kolk, Stephen Porges and many, many others. He is also an IMTA certified mindfulness teacher and teacher trainer who trains mindfulness teachers in trauma-informed approaches to sharing the practice of mindfulness with at-risk individuals, vulnerable populations and marginalized and underserved communities. He is a frequent presenter at national conferences and guest lectures at universities and colleges like Harvard, Brown, Emory, Butler, Smith and others. He taught meditation, Buddhist Psychology and Socially Engaged Buddhism as a Naropa University faculty member from 1999 – 2009. He is the author of Radical Responsibility: How to Move Beyond Blame, Fearlessly Live Your Highest Purpose and Become an Unstoppable Force for Good and Dharma in Hell: The Prison Writings of Fleet Maull. He leads meditation retreats throughout the world and recently organized and hosted the Global Resilience Summit.
