Maxine has been foundational in building in-performance education since the 1970’s. She was founding head of contemporary dance at the Claude Watson High School for Performing Arts, the Koffler Centre dance school, and award-winning Phyzikal Theatre company and faculty at University of Toronto, York & Concordia and is guest artist at arts institutions & festivals across North America, East Asia, Europe & Australia. She is known for collaborative projects ranging from intimate chamber pieces to site-specific ensemble works including recent award winners KRIMA, My heart is a spoon & Moments in Time. Her company Across Oceans Arts facilitates platforms for research & production of arts events linking artists & public across generations, disciplines, abilities & heritages, in Canada and internationally.
