Fiona Buckland
Co-Active Life Coach, author, embodied facilitator
http://www.fionabucklandcoaching.com/I am a professional Co-Active Life Coach trained by the internationally recognized Coaches Training Institute and certified by the International Coach Federation. I am also a certified Embodied Facilitator, passionate about bringing our bodies and therefore our full selves into our lives and leadership. I am also trained in Organisation and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC), and experienced in facilitating shifts in groups, teams and partnerships that move them from patterns of dysfunctional, ineffective communication, poor conflict resolution, low creativity, productivity or synergy and role confusion to a whole new world of opportunities. If I could summarize the high dream of my work, I would say I love making a positive impact with people who want to make a positive impact in the world.
Everyone has a story that brings them to where they are today. My work as a coach is enriched by the range and depth of my academic and professional experience. I am a Fulbright scholar and published author, with a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where I lectured in writing and performance. Rather than continue a career in academia, I took a road less travelled and worked extensively in UK and US corporate life, including key strategic roles with Amazon and Penguin, where I worked with thought-leaders from the worlds of psychology, neuroscience, behavioural science and culture. In working with me, you'll be accessing my knowledge and expertise, as well as empathy with your professional success and struggles.
More recently, as a creative leader, I launched a respected independent publishing house dedicated to reinvigorating the art of the essay—hailed as “a pointer to the future of books.” I also launched one of the most valuable international essay competitions in the world, combining my love of sharing ideas and supporting writers, with expanding the possibilities of business. I bring a real appreciation for purposeful start-up energy and challenges to my work with those clients leading projects, companies, shifting the public conversation and making a difference.
Now I dedicate my time to coaching individuals, groups and businesses, writing and facilitating classes and workshops. I have also worked as a curator, producer and speaker coach for TEDx, so I know how to help people connect with others to influence positive change. I am also part of the Humanitarian Coaching Network, supporting the wellbeing and development of humanitarian staff-particularly those serving in the most isolated and complex posts-by connecting them with a global cohort of volunteer coaches.
