Transforming Pain

We spend a lot of time, energy and effort to avoid or minimize pain. Pain hurts, so we seek the quick and easy way out. Distractions, self-medicating, busyness, disassociation. But whether your pain is from a stubbed toe or a broken heart, your body never stops wanting to integrate it and heal. When you go directly toward the pain, giving your hurts the attention and care they need, your cells gather and act like an army of peaceful warriors who all got the message that it’s time to get whole. By softening, breathing and feeling into the pain, (even if it’s just for 1-2 breaths more than the day before) energy starts to flow, and your body begins to heal. You stop fighting the pain, and your body can soon rest. Healing is a deep act of self-care. This short workshop will be practical and experiential in nature.
