The body is an amazing connector to spirit. Several ancient cultures recognized that there is no difference between body and spirit, that what animates the body is spirit and therefore the body is a divine instrument. Modern science is also showing us how our bodies are so intimately connected to the very source of life. This view of the body is what supports both movement as a spiritual practice and movement as a healing art. Movement in the form of conscious dance, is a powerful reflective surface that allows us to experience a deeper sense of self. When applied intentionally, conscious dance can become a spiritual practice and a place for us to engage in a process of self-realization. Conscious dance can also be applied as a healing art, as it gives access to energy blocks stored in the body and provides a way of processing and integrating that which is touched. This presentation will explore how this happens in the Azul Conscious Movement Practice and will give a gentle introduction to this way of moving the body.
