Award winning performer, dancer and Artistic director of the Karavan Ensemble, Yael’s dream was to become a circus artist but a severe Scoliosis discovered at the age of 12 diverted her journey into practicing body awareness from a young age. She started taking Feldenkrais classes (as her mother was a student of Feldenkrais himself) and later travelled across Japan, Russia, Brazil and Europe working with diverse masters in a search to develop her own method for a physical language of expression and body training bridging between East and West, dance and acting. Her specialty is Butoh Dance, sharing more than 20 years of experience having studied and worked with Butoh masters such as Kazuo Ohno, Tadashi Endo, Carlotta Ikeda, Yumiko Yoshioka, Akiko Motofuji, Ko Morobushi and Minako Seki, amongst others. She has been performing in theatres, festivals, galleries and museums as well as directing and teaching workshops worldwide since 1999.
