Her two movement systems are based in the principles of Dynamic Embodiment: Moving For Life is an international Somatic Fitness program designed for older adults and people of any age concerned about cancer. BodyMind Dancing is an expressive dance system that includes phrases, improvisations and guided somatizations for increasing self-awareness, finding healing energy and communicating joy.
As Ferraro Fellow of Social Justice and Movement for Marymount Manhattan College she is actively involved in social somatics – striving for somatic awareness and embodiment to be equally accessible for: the health of ALL individuals, diverse compassionate communities, and every lifeform on our planet. She has served on the faculty of numerous universities - Columbia, Princeton, NYU, San Francisco State among others, as well as numerous boards of directors, and has been on the steering committee of Global Water Dances since its inception in 2008 – advocating for Safe Water for All. She founded the Center for Kinesthetic Education (CKE) for professional development and pre-K-12 curricula using self-regulating movement and “healthy dancing” within NYC public and independent schools. Moving For Life DanceExercise (MFL) became a non-profit in 2014 to better support people with life-threatening illnesses, and has been featured on local, national and international television and paper media. Dr Eddy is a featured speaker with dozens of annual podcasts, blog interviews and videos. She’s dealt with chronic Lyme disease and feels her life in NYC has served as an urban jungle that provided skills to keep her on her toes to creatively find inner and outer places of peace. She loves to create and perform on stages, in homes, parks, on street corners, or especially frolicking in water and the mountains whenever the opportunity arises.
