Atira is an international speaker, somatic trauma specialist, yoga teacher, coach, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner & educator. She is a Tedx speaker, and a #1 best selling author on Amazon, and Atira is passionate in empowering others to be leaders in social change, serving and loving the world wholeheartedly, courageously & sustainably. Atira currently is in private practice, teaches trainings, workshops and retreats in Asia, Australia, Europe and South America, and is a PhD candidate researching the efficacy of somatic trauma interventions for child sex slaves in Asia. Atira is passionate about fusing the wisdom of yoga with trauma healing and social change, and has done so through her Trauma-Informed yoga and facilitator trainings, international programs in marginalized populations, and founding and directing the yoga and social change initiative Yoga for Freedom, which has raised over $65,000 for the trauma recovery of child sex slavery in Asia. Atira has been immersed in various forms of yoga styles, including Classical Hatha, Yin, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow. However, it wasn’t until her training in the Anusara style of Yoga when her teaching style blossomed. She has over 1000 hours of education in yoga teacher trainings that she has attended all over the world and is certified in Anusara, Yin Yoga, Tigress Yoga and Embodied FlowTM. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Art to Healing, an Australian registered charity organization assisting sex-trafficked women and children globally. Over 14 years, Atira has set up numerous yoga, art therapy, women’s health, and trauma-informed programs, from the refugee camps in Burma, to the slums of Nepal.
